Hello Renate,

This seems to be a mystery. Last time I wrote, I had tried it on a Linux
machine. Just now I tried it on Windows. In both cases, I attempted to
do an OAIdownload from within GLI using GS2.80 first *and* also the
latest Greenstone 2. And it worked for me in all these instances.

I know that you mentioned that you already got GLI downloading from
other OAI servers, but will you try downloading 4 docs from a different
OAI server one more time? For example, would you try the OAI option in
the GLI Download panel using the following settings:
URL: http://www.nzdl.org/cgi-bin/oaiserver
set: oai-e
max records: 5

And can you tell us how you get on?

If that does not work, perhaps some of the bugfixes made in the download
panel for the latest release may have had the side-effect of getting
this to work for you. Could you try the updated new release from:
http://www.greenstone.org/download#snapshots-dist for your OS?

Can you also tell me what pressing the Server Information button in the
Download panel says?

Regards,
Anupama

http://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/o/oai/oai?verb=ListSets, the page that
loads lists the various sets that the OAI server provides metadata for.
The second or third has the setSpec element set to mbooks:pdus
(<setSpec>mbooks:pdus</setSpec>).
