Subject: [greenstone-users] Re: Problem with the installation of Greenstone 2.81 in Windows XP Professional |
Please see the email we sent earlier today. This one continues on from
there.
After our investigating the problem, we have concluded that in all
likeliness the problem is indeed caused by there being special (Spanish)
characters in your path. We have made a temporary fix that we believe
can work in your situation.
Please download this new file (tweaked GS2.81rc installer):
http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~ak19/Greenstone-2s2008.11.14-win32.exe
For this to work, you will need to put this installer in a location
whose entire path does NOT contain any special characters before
executing it.
We hope it will work for you. Please tell us if you encounter any
further difficulties. This is an incomplete solution, that will work as
long as the path to your installation folder contains only Roman
characters. This is why we can't provide it as an official fix to this
problem yet.

Greenstone Team
