Subject: [greenstone-users] Problem with cover images

Hello List,

I am running Greenstone 2.80 on an Apache server and am having problems with displaying cover images as thumbnails instead of document icons. When I place a .jpg file with the same name as a .flv or .pdf file into the import directory where the .flv or .pdf resides (as instructed here: http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Customizing\_collections#How\_do\_I\_add\_cover\_images\_for\_my\_documents.3F), the .jpg does not appear as the cover image for the .flv file. I have cover images disabled (DocumentImages set to false so that the cover image does not show up on the document page) and a statement in VList that says: "{If}{[dc.Format] eq 'flv', [link]<img src="[DocImage]" height='150' />[/link]}. Instead, I get the following error:

The file Test.jpg.pag was not recognised by any plugin.
The file Test.jpg.dir was not recognised by any plugin.

It seems as if, for some reason, Greenstone is converting the .jpg into two files: a .jpg.pag and a .jpg.dir file. I can't figure out why this is happening. However, when I try this exact procedure on my home installation of Greenstone that is not on the Apache server, it works as it should and cover images are displayed as thumbnails.

Is there a workaround for this problem? I cannot figure out another way to display an image as the thumbnail icon for documents that are not images.

Thank you,
Kaitlin
